About Michelle Waters
Michelle left a 10-year career as a middle and high school English teacher to run reThink ELA, an educational publishing company full time. Before she became a teacher, she served as an award-winning newspaper reporter and editor, which she left to stay home with her kids, who are now grown. While raising two young children, she founded and managed a web design and hosting company service work at home moms selling products online. She decided to help students discover their stories after her children started school and began chronicling that journey on her teacher blog. She started selling lesson plans and units on the site in 2015 and transitioned the fledgling company into an educational materials publisher in 2018. Now that she is leaving the classroom, she is building a community of educators who a dedicated to taking back control of their lives while making a difference.
